The words of somewhere over the rainbow were originally written by Jewish immigrants to America before World War II broke out. As you listen to the words of the song, you can hear them talking about a future they long for, that is just beyond the rainbow. That hope may or may not have been in their lifetime, but the words are eternal…
So, no matter where we go, we want to touch lives and hearts, even if it is just for a brief moment. You never know the impact that is being made or when it will come to fruition. You will never know if that person was in the darkest moment of their life and was planning to commit suicide night, or if they just moved to a new country from Ukraine and had to start their life over again… You cannot plan events such as meeting Israelis on vacation in Spain, connecting with them, and the very next day their country was attacked and broke out into war…. You cannot plan meeting people who were not supposed to even be in that city at that moment, yet they just happened to be there, and happened to meet you.
They share with us stories, they share with us about their lives…Some even say this has never happened to me before in my life! I will remember this moment forever.
That is the impact we want to make. Changed lives, everywhere we go, no matter where we are in the world.
