I never thought about the gravity of the situation. I felt afraid, a lot of fear and surprise. My brother invited me to come here to the synagogue. I see that for him, it has been very significant to find God here. I have seen changes in my brother, and I want to know what it is about.

They gave me absolutely everything. A roof, shelter, food… And the Word of God which is the greatest of all because I was in complete ignorance. So, in my life, it has been the greatest treasure I have ever received.

With actions they have shown me how to create daily love stories or “Love Chronicles”. Just the way in which he observes the needs of the people. There was a National Guard truck in front of us and we stopped.

We ran and said, “Wait! Wait! Would you like some water?” And we ran to deliver the water. To realize that people do not expect such a selfless act in the middle of a pandemic.

It was hot. Who is going to come out and give you water? Only a person with a willing heart? It was very emotional and exciting to see that in such a simple and heartfelt wat, we can do something beautiful for others.

I am so grateful. I do not have words to express the infinite gratitude I feel for the way I was sheltered and welcomed in this place. They took care of me. Rabbi and Karen are a marriage of love, wisdom, loyalty, faith… Nowhere have I seen that before. Nowhere…

Me cuidaron.
